SIGNIFICANCE OF UTILIZING SURVEYS IN EVALUATING PATIENTS’ SATISFACTION

Abstract


Survey is a popular research design used to collect data from a large number of respondents. Considering its usefulness in reaching out to large population within the shortest possible time, this paper sets out to discuss its significance in evaluating patient satisfaction. The paper will be adopting descriptive approach in identifying the significance of utilizing survey in evaluating patient’s satisfaction by firstly, defining the concept of survey and identified types of survey as well as methods of data collection under survey research.  The paper also examined the merits and demerits of questionnaire in evaluating patient’s satisfaction. patients’ satisfaction and its objectives were also discussed. Lastly the paper discussed  the significance of surveys in assessing patients’ satisfaction and based its conclusion, that patient’s satisfaction survey gives the health care practitioners critical insights into patient’s experience and expectations , and that through feedback they can also identify areas of improvements that will help to build a trust worthy relationship that will nurture patient’s outcome, royalty and retention.
