SUSTAINING GIRL CHILD EDUCATION PROGRAMME FOR NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE 21ST CENTURY: THE WAY FORWARD
Abstract
This paper examined the strategies for sustaining girl child education for national development in the 21st century. It should be noted that the federal republic of Nigeria as a country is interested in the girl child education programme so as to achieve the educational agenda of education for All (EFA) by 2030. Both the government and meaning Nigerians had put up series of efforts yet, the problems still persisted. The papers however find out the major factors that militate against girl child education in Nigeria and strategies that the girl child education programe can be sustained for national development in 21st century. The way forward toward improving girl child education in Nigeria was also presented.
